Happy Holidays!

Paws & Claws Feline Rescue

Happy Holidays to all of you, our loyal supporters and volunteers! Although we’ve had to make many changes this year to our organization, our dedication to helping homeless cats and kittens has not wavered.
After ten plus years we must change our focus. Today, we simply don’t have the foster homes and volunteers to keep as many cats as we have in the past. Instead, we are now dedicated to assisting people with TNR and the vetting of ferals, managing our two feral colonies in Statesville, and being a life-long refuge for the remaining 100 or so cats still in our program.
We know your time is precious, but if you, or someone you know, who is a fellow cat lover, has any time or resources and could help, please contact us. If you live in Statesville, we are looking for volunteers to feed one day a week at one of our feral colonies.
We thank you for your many generous donations in the past and hope that you’ll continue to support us in the future. The many cats and kittens in our care depend on us for their care, food, and vetting - none of which comes for free.
We wish you all the best in 2018 and hope you’ll consider making a tax-deductible donation to us today thereby helping the precious animals in our program.
Send donations via Paypal on our website pawsandclawsnc.com or send to: Paws & Claws Feline Rescue, PO Box 5221, Statesville, NC 28687.

The cats and kittens thank you….

                                                 Happy Holidays!

Sweet Sebastian, now known as Benji

Jesse writes:

Jean,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that Sebastian is doing great! We actually renamed him Benji. He is playing and purring ALL the time! And he even has his own pillow on our couch that he has claimed as his own.
When I talk sweet to him, he will start to purr and sometimes he will even "talk" back to me. And he instantly starts purring when I touch him. When I say he purrs all the time, he really purrs all the time! He's so sweet!
One of the pictures I attached, you can see that he loves to get comfy on my lap!
Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to adopt this baby doll!

2017 8th Annual Furry Angel Tree

2017 8th Annual Furry Angel Tree
The holidays have always been a time of giving to those who are less fortunate. There are thousands of companion animals who have been abandoned or relinquished to rescue organizations that struggle to provide basic services for them. Pet lovers look for ways they can help, but the need is so great, sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what is needed.
The Animal Hospital of Statesville is sponsoring our seventh annual Furry Angel Tree to benefit local animal rescue organizations with which we are closely associated. These organizations include the Piedmont Animal Rescue, the Iredell County Animal Shelter, and Forever Home Canine Rescue, The Duffy & Katie Fund, Paws & Claws Feline Rescue and Earth Angels Cat Rescue. The Wish List is available with the different rescue organizations’ names and their needs. You can access the needs list in the NOTES section of our Facebook page, going to our website to the News & Events tab, OR you can come by AHS to pick up a copy. Purchase the item or items noted on the list, and bring the purchased items back to the Furry Angel Tree in the lobby of the Animal Hospital of Statesville by 5:00 pm on December 22nd. Representatives of the Animal Hospital of Statesville will then contact the participating rescue organizations to come and pick up their donated items.
These organizations do so much year-round to help out pets in need. It costs a lot of money to run these rescues. Pet lovers now have a way to help abandoned animals at this special time of year. Come pick up the needs list today. Then, watch as gifts for pets in need pile up under our Furry Angel Tree!  Our hours are Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. We appreciate the generosity of our local pet lovers!

Sincerely,

Doctors and Staff of the Animal Hospital of Statesville

Kantiki

Lisa writes:

I thought I would send you some pictures of Kantiki, so you can see how she is doing. We call her Trix and she is a loving cat. It took a little while for her to get used to us but now she hangs out in the living room all the time. She loves my husband and follows him around when he is home.

She likes to go in my teenage daughter's room to sleep. It gives her a quiet place to go away from the loud boys when she needs it. She loves my husband's chair. She will nap there during the day and in the evening she gets up on the back and plays. It is the funniest thing to watch.

We are happy to have her in our family.

URGENT - Nugget Needs Your Help

Hello,

I wouldn't give up Nugget if it wasn't for my health condition, but now I am forced to move back home with my parents because I am not medically capable of living by myself, as per my doctor.

I have had Nugget since he was only 3 weeks old and the people we got him from told us he was 8 weeks and he was already in terrible condition as he was sick, covered in fleas, and malnourished. I cared for this kitty since he was a baby and he thinks of me as his mom. I would do anything for him, but now my health has declined and I have to finally face reality and accept that I may not be able to care for him.

He is a 3 and 1/2-year-old orange domestic tabby. He is a sweet, loving, heavy-set little boy that just wants to kiss on everyone and be loved by everyone. He is neutered and has his front paws declawed. All of his shots are up to date and his records can be obtained from Lakewood Veterinary in Mooresville. I will need to surrender immediately!!!!
