Merry Christmas

Happy Holidays to all of you, our loyal supporters and volunteers!  Although it has been a challenging year for Paws & Claws Feline Rescue, we are committed to continuing to help cats in need. We are feeding and caring for 70 plus stray and feral cats at two Statesville locations. In our efforts to reduce the population of homeless kitties, we also trapped a momma cat and five kittens. We found homes for two of the kittens but now need forever homes for three sweet teenagers.  Please spread the word, adopt one (or better yet, two) and save a life!

After having moved our discount pet supply store three times, we ended up at the I40 Flea Market. Unfortunately, the store simply didn’t get enough traffic to be sustainable so we will have to close it at the end of this year.

We hope our new program, “Sponsor a Feral Cat” (coming in 2019) will give us a bit more of a steady income base and allow you, our indispensable supporters, to have an opportunity to see, in person, where your money goes. It will work something like this. For an annual donation of $100 you’ll be able to choose a feral kitty to sponsor. You’ll then receive pictures of that cat, and if you want, you can come along for a feeding. We think this is a great way to show the love, especially if you’re allergic and can’t work directly with cats. If you’re interested, e-mail me today!

Don’t forget that you can donate to us, a little at a time when you place orders online using smile.amazon.com. Your shopping experience will be the same as if on Amazon.com, except that a small portion of the purchase price (0.5%) will be donated to us as your charity of choice.  (Since August of 2018 we’ve collected approximately $88 that we wouldn’t have received otherwise.)

As always, we know your time is precious, but if you or someone you know (who is a fellow cat lover) has any time or resources and could help, please contact me.  If you live in or near Statesville, we are still looking for volunteers to feed one day a week at one of our feral colonies.

In addition, we thank you so very much for your many generous donations in the past and hope that you’ll continue to support us in 2019. The many cats and kittens in our care depend on us for their care, food, and vetting which gets more expensive every year. No donation is too small – any amount will help.

Lastly, we want to send a big THANK YOU out to our wonderful volunteers, who we couldn’t do without. We appreciate all your efforts!
We wish you all the best in this holiday season and in 2019.

Send (tax-deductible) donations via Paypal on our website pawsandclawsnc.com or by check to:  Paws & Claws Feline Rescue, PO Box 5221, Statesville, NC 28687.  Or a fundraiser on Facebook Paws & Claws Feline Rescue.
The cats and kittens thank you….
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Ps. Pictured below is one of our sweet teenage kitties, Spice, who is looking for her forever home. (Look at those eyes!)

In Memoriam - Winnie Miller

A memorial donation has been made from family and friends of Winnie Miller, 94, who passed over the Rainbow Bridge to be with her loving dog, Stormy, and all the homeless cats and kittens we couldn’t save.  Winnie was a best friend and loyal volunteer for Paws & Claws Feline Rescue for fourteen years and will be missed.  Winnie is from Cornelius, NC and Mentor, OH

AmazonSmile is increasing the donation rate 10x from Oct 29 - Nov 2

Through Nov 2, AmazonSmile is donating 5% (ten times the usual amount) to Paws & Claws Feline Rescue when you shop at smile.amazon.com/ch/27-4430180. #AmazonSmile #StartWithaSmile

Hi!  In November 2017 we adopted Sampson from the Statesville Pet Smart during one of your adoption fairs.
He is the sweetest & most gentle cat.  He has been a blessing to our family.
I am sending a photo of Sampson doing what he does every night. ...sleeping on my legs!
Thanks for taking such good care of him before he became a member of our family!

Paws & Claws is now feeding and vetting about 70 cats, which is very expensive.  We moved back to Broad Street for a Closeout Sale!  Everything needs to be sold quickly as we have only a short time to stay here.

If you live in Statesville, we are looking for volunteers to help with trapping and to feed one day a week at one of our feral colonies.  There are tens of thousands of feral and homeless cats and kittens in Iredell County alone who need our help!  We know your time is precious, but if you, or someone you know, who is a fellow cat lover, has any time or resources and could help, please contact us.

We thank you for your many generous donations in the past and hope that you’ll continue to support us in the future. The many cats and kittens in our care depend on us for their food and vetting - none of which comes for free.  Every penny donated goes to help the cats.

Thank you, Shepherd Elementary School and Cub Scout Pack 174!

Jen Rash presents cat food and treats to Paws & Claws Feline Rescue donated from a pet food drive organized by the students at Shepherd Elementary School.

Stacy Gorman and her son, Aidan Hebbard also donate cat food collected by Cub Scout Pack 174 in Troutman.

These donations are very much appreciated and it’s wonderful to know that children care about the tens of thousands of homeless cats starving every day in Iredell County.   Paws & Claws Feline Rescue feeds approximately eighty homeless and feral cats every day.  They also have discounted pet supplies for sale in the Iredell Choral Society Resale Store at Forest Heights Shopping Center which helps feed homeless cats and kittens.  We need volunteers to help feed one day a week.  Help save a life – donate and volunteer – SPAY & NEUTER!!
