The boys are doing wonderfully well, little Stevie is so robust and healthy now that he can outplay Adam. They are such happy, loving, little fellas. They are my little muses and my story titled Doption written from Stevie's point of view is going to be in an anthology of pet adoption stories. They author Fiona Ingram told me it will be an E Book but also a print book. There will be pictures of the boys too.
The best news of all, my husband has stopped smoking cigarettes and has switched to E-cigs which have no second hand smoke. I'd like to credit the boys for that but it's because of our little grandson Calvin who was born in May, my daughter told her dad that he is not allowed to smoke around the grandchildren. I cannot tell you how nice it is to not have a house that smells like an ash tray. When you look at the picture of the boys you'll notice that Stevie is almost as big as Adam now. He really picked up in height and length. Adam is on the outside, he always cradles his brother as though he still feels the need to be protective. I love them both so much.

We got a lovely email from Nancy, who said:
“Hats off to you, Jean, and to all your other volunteers and helpers. Congratulations on six years! You've got a big job, what with all the unspayed female cats in Iredell County. I know no one can possibly help them all -- but you're doing such a GREAT job of helping as many as you can!”
Deepest thanks,

Dear Friends of Paws &Claws,
Paws & Claws Feline Rescue celebrated our Six Year Anniversary in August!
A million thanks to all our friends, volunteers, and adopters who have made Paws & Claws a successful rescue. We have saved and adopted 600 cats and kittens in the last six years, and this year alone, we will adopt about 200!
We are happy to announce that we now have a Paws & Claws Adoption Center at 120 W. Broad Street in downtown Statesville! Thanks to Charles & Alecia Cole who donated the back of their storefront. We now have a sign on the corner of the building so people can find us. We also have pet supplies at 50-75% savings for donations. Charles also donates his time to run the rescue! Hours are Mon & Fri 1:00– 5:30, Tues & Thurs 10:30 – 12:30 & 3:30- 5:30, Sat 10:30 – 3:00. Closed Wed. & Sun.
We are still showing our cats on Saturdays at PetSmart in Statesville, and Petco in Mooresville. Thanks to all our volunteers who make this possible, especially Kristina Spainhour & Christine DeLaughter!
We need more volunteers in both Statesville & Mooresville, so please contact us if you can volunteer even one hour a week! It is very worthwhile and rewarding to help save the lives of loving cats and kittens.
We still desperately need donations to vet, spay/neuter, feed and care for almost eighty cats and kittens in our program. Please go to our website, pawsandclawsnc.com for Paypal or send a check to: PCFR at P. O. Box 5221, Statesville, NC 28687. Every penny is spent on our program and is tax deductible.
The need is so great in NC - we get calls every day to take cats and kittens and we are not able to save them all. Please tell everyone you know to spay and neuter! We received a $10,000 grant from Petco Foundation last year to spay/neuter over 300 cats, but that is only a drop in the bucket.
Thanks again for all your support, hard work, and dedication to save cats & kittens.
