Happy Holidays from Paws & Claws Feline Rescue

It will be a Merry Christmas for Paws & Claws and our cats and kittens! We can’t thank enough all our supporters who donated to help us pay our spay/neuter bills.

Thanks to you we’ll be able to start the new year without worrying about being so deeply in debt! We still need donations to continue to feed and vet over eighty cats and kittens currently in our program – it is very expensive to save these little lives. Your donation is tax deductible and unlike large charities, every penny goes to the cats and kittens.

Paws & Claws has adopted almost nine hundred cats and kittens so far - next year it will be over a thousand lives saved! Please tell all your friends and family to give a cat or kitten a home for Christmas so we can meet our goal for this year.

Thanks also to our many volunteers – we couldn’t run our program without you! Please consider volunteering your time to foster, clean cages, or help on adoption Saturdays. It is a very worthy cause and we definitely need volunteers if Paws & Claws Feline Rescue is going to continue it’s good work. Please send us an e-mail if you can help.

We now have three locations: Petco in Mooresville, PetSmart in Statesville, and we also have our very own adoption (and discount pet supplies) location at 120 W. Broad St. in the newly landscaped downtown Statesville. Come visit us and send adopters!

A Plea for Donations

Dear Friends of Paws & Claws,

We need help with our spay/neuter of this year's kittens!  We have been growing so fast, we unfortunately took more kittens into the program than we have been able to adopt, and they all need to be spayed and neutered now!  We need $4,000.00 to pay for these spay/neuters!  If you can help us at all - any amount donated will help.  All donations are tax deductible - we are a registered charily and 90% of all donations go directly to the cats and kittens.

It has been all we can do to pay our vet bills for kittens who have gotten sick, and buy food and litter for the 90 cats and kittens in our program. Safeguards will be put into effect so this does not happen again, but it is so hard to say no to saving these poor homeless kittens!

Adam and Stevie, and an important article for your pet’s health

The boys are doing wonderfully well, little Stevie is so robust and healthy now that he can outplay Adam. They are such happy, loving, little fellas. They are my little muses and my story titled Doption written from Stevie's point of view is going to be in an anthology of pet adoption stories. They author Fiona Ingram told me it will be an E Book but also a print book. There will be pictures of the boys too.

The best news of all, my husband has stopped smoking cigarettes and has switched to E-cigs which have no second hand smoke. I'd like to credit the boys for that but it's because of our little grandson Calvin who was born in May, my daughter told her dad that he is not allowed to smoke around the grandchildren. I cannot tell you how nice it is to not have a house that smells like an ash tray. When you look at the picture of the boys you'll notice that Stevie is almost as big as Adam now. He really picked up in height and length. Adam is on the outside, he always cradles his brother as though he still feels the need to be protective. I love them both so much.
